Barefootball is a symbol to the world of the true human experience of soccer in Africa, where passion for the game begins with balls crafted from whatever materials happen to be available – a conglomerate of waste, held together by skilfully woven strips of jute and twine in a crude arrangement of hexagonal panels.
The project began with a vision to engage the world through the universal language of soccer and the principles of sustainability. We aim to distribute Barefootballs across the globe, generating funds to sustain jobs for the ball makers and fuel community projects beyond 2010.
